As much as I hate moving it really shouldn't bother me as
much as it does. As an Army brat we moved a lot. Not staying anywhere for more
than a few years. Different bases in different states and countries! The most
memorable and farthest away was Okinawa Japan. Even though I was young I can
still remember the people, weather, animals we had, and my sister speaking and
singing Japanese! Okinawa was the first place I ever saw a lightening bug! Like a lot of kids we would catch them and
put them into jars, watching them light up the inside! We had a German Sheppard
dog named Lady Ginger who did not like the natives. Her favorite person to
harass was the mailman! LOL
Moving as an adult is much different. That's probably why
it was different as a child. No stress! There is so much to prepare for and to
take care of. Finding a new place to go to, making sure you can transfer
utility services, throwing away things you haven't looked at or touched in
years, finding boxes to use for packing, packing, getting the help to move and
the trucks. During this lovely process you have to keep life and the daily
schedule going!! STRESS!!!!
Moving as an adult from one state to another is even more
stressful!!! This is the kind of move I have been preparing for over the last
few weeks! Months actually! I have made the decision to leave what has been my
home state for more than 35 years, Florida! All of my family, kids, and
grandchildren are here in Florida. I have been raised here, raised my kids
here, and watched my kids raise their kids here. My life has always revolved
around my kids. Now that they are all grown up and have families of their own,
it's time for mommy to have a new adventure! This adventure will be taking me
up north to South Carolina. I will be continuing my schooling there. It's an
exciting move as well as scary! I've never been away from home but it's not too
far to come back and visit. My kids, grandchildren, and family will have some
beautiful country living and snow to come and visit too!!! Life is about adventures and I'm so looking
forward to this one!!
good luck on your new adventure change is scary and moving is always a pain but happiness is all worth it
ReplyDeleteI hate moving too....but Good Luck with everything
ReplyDeleteI think the worst part of moving is the unpacking. Good luck in your new home.
ReplyDeleteGo mom!!! I find that I would like to move out of state, but my children, still need me even though they are all in their 20s now. I do have a grand daughter, but I only get a couple of chances a year to see her, so I am not really to move away from that just yet. I hope you will love it there, and finishing school... every one needs a change now and then!
ReplyDeleteGood luck and happy unpacking.
ReplyDeleteGood luck up there and don't freeze! Moving is always a pain, but I always liked making the new place what I like and putting my touches on things. Hopefully you'll find the joy in moving and get settled quickly!
