Easter Weekend

The weekend didn't start off too well with the flight fiasco to South Carolina, Lesson Learned; I'm now 30,000 feet in the air heading back to Orlando. It's been a good flight this time. I look forward to seeing the family again, getting back on my regular schedule. I do miss my new friends and family back in South Carolina but will see them again very soon!
So many wonderful, surprising and relaxing things happened this Easter weekend.  I had the honor of meeting a retired Marine who recently turned a young 83 last month. Once a Marine, always a Marine! Semper Fi! We also celebrated his son’s birthday which was on Easter this year.
All of the family had gotten together on Saturday to catch up and enjoy a pizza dinner with homemade apple pie for dessert. It’s always important to spend time with the older generation because you don’t know how long you have with them. I didn’t get to spend as much time with the Marine as much as I would’ve liked. I did find out he was sharp shooter in the Korean War. After seeing the pictures taken today of him on the shooting range, he hasn’t lost his touch with a rifle! I look forward to longer talks with him!
There’s nothing like relaxing out in the country! My slice of heaven! Sitting in a lounge chair listening to the sounds of nature in the sun with a beer in my hand! The radio playing great country music and having a build your own burger lunch! Enjoying homemade carrot cake cookies for dessert. Sharing stories, talking about the activities of the day and the future plans of family members.  I look forward to going back to my slice of heaven very soon!
